How did we get here?

Some cafes and restaurants have a community table. The community table is a long, family style dining table, usually self-seating, where any individual patron or small group can sit and share space, and maybe even conversation with people they don’t know. I’ve sat at the community table plenty of times, but it was Theresa’s story that gave me an idea…

It started over breakfast at First Watch. Theresa and I met up at this local farm to table cafe, as we often do, to catch up and have some girl chat. Theresa began to tell me about how she and her son were there recently and sat at the community table. They had beautiful conversations with perfectly nice strangers and the experience was a memorable one for her and her son.

Light bulb! I couldn’t help but think what if there was a community mat? What if there was a space where people could gather to discuss yoga, meditation and the like. Our conversations are often about spirituality, yoga, meditation, tantra and Ayurveda. We value community, sharing, and learning and love the joyful feeling of making connections.

The Community MAT is a place where you can learn about and experience Meditation, Ayurveda, and Tantra yoga. We are so glad that you’re here and invite you to have a seat on our virtual mat. Stay awhile, share your experience and connect with us in our community.
